MATH IS GOOD / studios focuses on visual communication through graphic design and motion design.
We have an identifiable and distinct point of view and graphic execution that stands out both visually and conceptually. Our influences range from midcentury modern aesthetics, to fun colorful adds from the 1970s, to the more minimalist approaches to typography and character design.
Thus, we exist in a fertile dialogical space between vintage andmodern, institutional and informal, and exclusivity and accessibility.

“Math Is Good” was founded by Andreia in 2009 as an alias for her motion design work. She worked on tv, newspapers and won a couple of awards in the meantime (Monstra – Lisbon Animation Festival).
Joana met Andreia during an academic lecture on comics in 2013 and, a few years later, Math is Good became a two-person venture.
By 2018 Math Is Good was materialized in a Studio in Setúbal, Portugal, and we had expanded our expertise to graphic design and illustration, and even dabbled a bit in video mapping.
After a rebanding at the end of 2025, the studio’s image is now more in tune with our aesthetic references and ethos.
